Content: This item is a record of service for Sergeant TAKAHASHI Shinji, of the 78th Infantry Regiment 1st Infantry Gun Detachment, who died of malaria at the 112th Line of Communications Hospital in April 1944. As well as the date and cause of death, the document lists TAKAHASHI's service record in the Imperial Army, beginning with his induction into the 168th Infantry Regiment in 1941. After joining the 78th Regiment in 1942, TAKAHASHI participated in military operations at Palau, before landing with his unit at Hansa Bay in May 1943. This item was captured at Anamo in July 1944.
