Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at Giruwa on 23 January 1943 during the Japanese retreat from campaigns in the Owen Stanley Ranges. It contains daily orders and bulletins issued between 9 November and 8 December 1942 as received by Army Medical Officer 1st Lieutenant OKUBO, Commander of the 67 Giruwa Line of Communications Hospital, No.2 Sub-section. This item contains information about combat preparations, casualties, morale, discipline, training, evacuations, and the increasing enemy activity in the area, as they related to the operation and defence of the Giruwa hospital. The document also contains sketches of enemy troop dispositions. |
