Content: | This item is a record of service for Superior Private HISAYAMA Takesuke of the 78th Infantry Regiment 1st Infantry Gun Detachment, who died in battle at Baiba in October 1943, after his unit landed in Hansa Bay the previous May. As well as the date and cause of death, the document lists HISAYAMA's service record in the Imperial Army beginning with his induction into the 8th Army Service Corps Regiment. After joining the 78th Infantry Regiment in 1942, HISAYAMA participated in military operations at Palau, before landing with his unit at Hansa Bay in May 1943. HISAYAMA's service record gives a detailed description of his final expedition, including a small diagram of the area where he was killed. This item was captured at Anamo in July 1944. |
