Content: This item is part of an official diary recording the activities of the 3rd Telegraph Regiment, for the month of December 1943. During this period, the regiment was ordered to repel enemy troops from the Wewak, Madang and Rabaul region, and establish a wireless communications system for communication between these three areas. The diary contains specific instructions for setting up the system, including diagrams, details of transport arrangements between Rabaul and the Huon Peninsula, and a roll list and labour roster for the 44-man unit. It also mentions a telegraph line between the Takizawa unit and the unit headquarters. It was captured at Madang in May 1944.
