Content: | This Japanese-language propaganda leaflet was produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office at the end of the Pacific War. An English translation of the text is attached. It tells of the surrender of a Japanese unit to the Australian Forces in the west of Wewak in May 1945. The Japanese Lieutenant Colonel who represented the unit gave a speech and expressed his gratitude towards the respectful treatment his men received. The item urges the Japanese troops to surrender instead of wasting their lives. |
