Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at Sentani/Cyclops on 1 May 1944 during the Allied attacks on Japanese positions in northern Dutch New Guinea, which were intended to isolate the 18th Army at Wewak. This item contains a collection of extracts from a file entitled "Field ordnance duties", compiled by the Army Engineering School and issued in December 1938. It contains a general outline of ordnance duties in wartime, duties of division ordnance units, points to observe when firing various weapons (cavalry and field guns, 10 cm, 12 cm and 15 cm howitzers and 10 cm and 15 cm guns), and a list of equipment for each unit within a division including notes on construction, functioning and handling of various items of illuminating and survey equipment.
