| Content: | This item is a paybook recording salary payments made between December 1942 and February 1943 to a 2nd Class Pte OGAWA Fumikichi from the 102nd Infantry Regiment of the 51st Division. At the front of the book is a list of instructions for its care and use, as well as a list of ranks and special allowances calculating the rate of pay due to Pte OGAWA. The rest of the booklet is divided into columns for recording the month of payment, amount received, and the name and stamp of the paymaster and payee. Two pages of this section are filled in, and record stamps by Sergeant WATANABE, Paymaster Lieutenant ISHITSUKA, and Sergeant IIJIMA Shin. This item was captured at Malahang in September 1943. |
