Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for JA147573, a 1st Class Private with the 61st Independent Field Anti-aircraft Battalion, who became separated from his unit while suffering from malaria and was captured by US troops near Aitape on 4 May 1944. During the interrogation, JA147573 provided information on the organisation of various anti-aircraft units (including: 61st Independent Field Anti-aircraft Battalion, E77 Force, E1991 Force, anti-aircraft regiments in Tokyo), anti-aircraft training routines, American prisoners of war in Wewak on 15 September 1943, and Allied air raids on Wewak between February and March 1944.
