This item includes three documents on payment regulations distributed by the Southern Area Army Intendance Department: "Army payment regulations in the Greater East Asia War", jointly issued on 28 July 1943 by the Prime Minister, Minister of War and Minister of Finance; "Detailed Army payment regulations in the Greater East Asia War", issued on 20 August 1943 by the Minister of War; and "Summary of the establishment of the Army payment regulations in the Greater East Asia War", issued on 22 July 1943 by the Ministry of War Audit Section. They contain information on various types of pay, allowances and grants, clothing, rations and forage, a list of ordinances and regulations suspended and annulled, and tables of rates, conditions and forms of payment.
