| Content: | This item appears to be a record of comments from January to May 1943, relating to the service of soldiers from the 238th regiment Infantry Gun Detachment. Its pages are divided into sections for entering information about the soldiers' conduct, and also information about family circumstances affecting performance/attitude. One page for example, mentions the "particularly unsatisfactory attitude" of a Private Suzuki, and favourable comments about other soldiers are discernible in other parts of the manuscript, but in general this item is too damaged to yield much information. It is part of a folder of various materials concerning soldiers from the 238th Infantry Regiment, and was captured at Finschhafen in April 1944. |
