Content: This item consists of a handwritten book of 24 Japanese military songs written on a booklet constructed from army issue postcards. The unit "South China Expeditionary Army" is printed on the cover. The owner's name is illegible, but the year 1943 has been inscribed. Songs include the national anthem "Kimi ga yo", "The South China Expeditionary Army Song", "Advance into the Pacific" and "Advance of the Rising Sun". The item was captured in Lae in Sep 1943.
