Content: This item consists of three notebooks titled "Miscellaneous," "Number 2," and "Memo." The notebook titled "Miscellaneous" contains detailed information on repatriation procedures and personal belongings permitted to be taken. The first half of "Number 2" contains summaries of various announcements, speeches and newspaper articles. The rest contains extracts and analyses of literature, and names and addresses of some 70 officers. "Memo" is a personal diary for the period from 1 to 30 April 1946. Matters discussed include personnel affairs at camps, repatriation procedures, items permitted to be taken to Japan, medical conditions of a fellow officer, war crimes trials and suspected criminals, unfavourable reports on the situation in Rabaul by Japanese newspapers, General IMAMURA's entry to the war criminals' compound, etc.
