Content: This item is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured in the Sananada area on 1 December 1942. The booklet contains 1,000 words and phrases for use by Japanese forces in occupied territories. The phrase-book is broken into four sections: "important military phrases", "vocabulary", "basic words and phrases", and "ordinary conversation". It was intended to be used in a variety of situations, from interrogations and patrols, to shopping and ordering meals.
