| Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for Superior Private SUZUKI Yoshiichi of the 51st Division 102nd Infantry Regiment 3rd Battalion 4th Company 1st Platoon 2nd Section, who was captured in Wau on 16 February 1943. SUZUKI, a 32 year old Superior Private from Tokyo, was too weak to walk when he was captured by Australian troops. During the interrogation, SUZUKI provided information on unit organisation and movements, living conditions of soldiers, morale in Japan, and about the Hitachi Iron and Steel works where he had worked until he was conscripted. The report includes a picture which illustrates the Hitachi area. |
