Content: This item is a Japanese-language propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office. It is accompanied by an English translation of the text. The message stresses that none of Japanese POWs captured during the previous wars has been court-marshalled or legally punished. The message quotes the cases of Major KUGA during the Shanghai Incident and Major-General TATEKAWA during the Russo-Japanese War. It states that Japanese soldiers should live and consider serving the country in the future rather than die in a useless war. 100,000 of them were printed. 25,500 of these leaflets were dispatched to Hollandia on 23 October 1944, and 25,000 to Lae on 14 November 1944, 25,000 to Torokina on 21 November 1944.
