Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) research report issued on 28 February 1945 on the Japanese military police service. This report contains information on the authority, organisation, duties, training, qualifications, pay, uniform, and operational methods of the military police. It also contains a list of military police units in Manchuria and the Philippines and military police officers. The report concluded that although restricted by regulation, Japanese military police exercised almost limitless power enforcing military discipline and engaging in counter-espionage, censorship and propaganda activities.
