| Content: | This item is a Japanese-language propaganda news bulletin produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office during the Second World War. An English translation of the text is attached. It is dated on 4 February 1945. Major events covered by this issue include the advance of the American troops to Manila, the attack on the coast of French Indo-China and the South China coasts, the re-establishment of communication between India and China via Burma, and the advance of the Russians into Germany. It also includes Japanese domestic news, such as the 1945-46 budget, severe criticism of the government, the establishment of a marriage bureau in the Nakajima Plant, and the popularity of barter trade as a result of shortages of commodities. As the latest news, the fall of Manila is added at the very end of the text. 130,000 of them were printed. 50,500 of these leaflets were dispatched to Morotai on 15 and 17 February 1945, 10,000 to Hollandia on 16 February 1945, and 27,000 to Darwin on 17 February 1945, 20,000 to Nadzab on 17 February 1945, and 20,000 to Torokina on 17 February 1945. |
