Content: This item is a Japanese-language propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office. It is a so-called surrender leaflet which encourages the recipient to come over to the Allied forces with the leaflet in hand. Printed on the back of the leaflet is a message reporting the fall of Manila to the Americans. The message describes how hopeless the situation is for the Japanese and urges them to surrender rather than to continue resistance uselessly. The message also guarantees that Japanese POWs will be treated with respect and will not be subjected to humiliation for having been defeated.
