Content: | This is a combined Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for three prisoners of war. JA148052, attached to the 54th Line of Communication Hospital near Wewak, was captured at Sentain of 3 May 1944. JA147535 of the 113rd Line of Communication Hospital was captured at Hollandia on 28 April 1944. JA148168, an agricultural labourer, was a Formosan who was captured on 2 June 1944 1944. During the interrogation, the prisoners provided information on difficulties of evacuating casualties and transporting medical supplies. JA148168 spoke of anti-Japanese sentiment among the Formosan labourers, and of discriminatory treatment from Japanese soldiers. |
