| Content: | This item is a Japanese-language propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office during the Second World War. An English translation of the text is attached. The leaflet states that there is no use fighting to defend one's position for one more day when defeat is inevitable. It urges Japanese soldiers to surrender and to live for the future of their country, as Japan will need them for her post-war reconstruction. The English translation notes that the leaflet is designed to bring home to Japanese troops the hopelessness of their situation. 60,000 of them were printed. |
