Content: | This item is a Japanese-language propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office during the Second World War. An English translation of the text is attached. The leaflet details the recent defeats of the Japanese forces in the Gilbert Islands, the Marshalls, Truk and Saipan. The Allied air bombing of Kavieng and Rabaul is also mentioned. The message warns Japanese troops that the main theatre of the war is steadily moving closer to the Japanese mainland. The back page of the leaflet has a map of the Asia-Pacific region indicating the areas recaptured by the Australian and the American forces. 100,000 of them were printed. |
