Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for JA147204 of the 53rd Infantry Regiment, who was captured at Kometto on 23 March 1944. JA147204, 2nd Class Private, and six others were foraging for potatoes in a local garden. They were captured by US troops who were summoned by the locals. Personal details of JA147204 are not included in the report. During the interrogation, he provided information on his unit, movements, Allied air attacks near Tuluvu, cotton and rubber industry in Japan, and a ship building company in Shanghai where he had worked. |
