Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of Japanese publications captured at Morotai on 22 September 1944 during the Allied attacks on Japanese positions in northern Dutch New Guinea, which were intended to isolate the 18th Army at Wewak. This item contains information on the characteristics of harbours around the world (mainly China and South-East Asia, but also Australia), a fragment of a history of Japanese harbours, harbour construction techniques in China, harbour construction for rivers and coastal ports, sketches of harbour installations, and matters to consider when planning a shipping base.
