Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at Lae on 24 September 1943. This item contains a basic account of Japanese military objectives for the Lae-Salamaua Area in late April 1943 for the 51st Division. It also contains instructions on military classifications and dispositions, the duties of each district unit, combat orders, the accumulation of intelligence, communications and signalling, supplies and transport, and the establishment of a field hospital. The item also contains a "Distribution sketch of the 51st Division strength" as at 22 April 1943.
