| Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for JA100048 of the 263rd Air Unit, who was captured on 1 April 1944. JA100048, a 20 year old Superior Airman from Kumamoto Prefecture, was found semi-conscious in the water when he parachuted into the sea after his plane was attacked and burst into flames. He was captured by a US ship. During the interrogation, JA100048 provided information on unit organisation, movements, training for air crew, and bases in Japan and Taiwan. Sketches of airfields in Iwakuni, Takao, Tainan and Matsuyama are attached. Also two photographs of crew in the 263rd Air Unit are included. |
