Content: | This item is a pictorial propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office during the Second World War. Four of the six pictures concern successful operations of the Allied Forces, including the landing on Morotai, the air raid on the Ogasawara (Bônin) Islands, the bombing of the Japanese airfield in Taiwan and the liberation of Europe from German occupation. There is also a picture of numbers of German officers and men surrendering to the Allied Forces. The image on the title page depicts two Japanese girls picking mandarin oranges. 80,000 of them were printed. 20,000 of these leaflets were dispatched to Hollandia on 1 November 1944 and 63,200 to Darwin on 1 November 1944, and 20,000 to Nadzabon 28 October 1944. |
