Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at Cape Gloucester on 8 February 1944 during the campaign to retake New Britain. This item is an unbound book entitled "Natib Mountain area detailed combat report", issue by Natsu Force (65th Brigade), covering the period 9 January to 27 January 1942. It gives a comprehensive account of combat operations by the 65th Brigade against American forces on the Bataan Peninsula in the Philippines, including routine orders, strategy and tactics, battles, casualties, and materiel losses. This document also contain observations about US tactics and strategy, in particular the use of artillery and sniping tactics.

The document appears to have been written by an operations expert or historian with Japanese forces who took part in operations in the Philippines.
