Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured in the Salamaua-Lae area on 31 July 1943 during the Japanese retreat from campaigns in the Owen Stanley Ranges. This item is a collection of intelligence reports from the Moto Group, 51st Division fighting in New Guinea between 29 April and 16 August 1943, the period before the fall of Lae to the Allies in September 1943. It contains information on military operations, casualties, bombing, defensive plans, reconnaissance, enemy positions and movements, enemy intelligence, tactical decisions, supply and transport movements. It also contains sketch maps and summaries of action in the European, African, Pacific and China theatres.
