Content: | This item is a Japanese language propaganda newspaper produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office during the Second World War. An English translation of the text is provided. This issue is dated on 18 September 1943. Events covered by this issue include the Emperor's concern about the production capacity of Japan's war industry, the rice harvest of 1943, the enforcement of blackouts to avert bombing and the abuse of the blackout by criminals, the situation in Shanghai, the loss of Salamaua and Lae, the deteriorating German positions in Russia, strategic planning by the Allies, the surrender of Italy and the US superiority in shipping, etc. 60,000 of them were printed. |
