Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for Superior Private JA145726 of the 24th Field Machine Cannon Company 1st Machine Cannon Platoon 2nd Section, who was captured in Melanpipi about 20 miles from Lae on 28 February 1944. JA145726, a 24 year old Superior Private from Yamanashi, was captured by Australian New Guinea Administrative Unit (ANGAU) local troops while he was digging potatoes in a local garden. During the interrogation, JA145726 provided information on unit organisation, movement, 20 mm anti-aircraft maniche cannons, and conditions in Japan.
