Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for Sergeant Major BOMURA Akira of the Moridama Air Brigade 208th Air Group 3rd Company, who was captured in Tsilitsili near Wau on 20 August 1943. BOMURA, a 26 year old Sergeant Major from Kumamoto and wireless operator and gunner, was captured by Australian troops five days after his plane was shot down. He was the only survivor from the crash. Initially, he gave the false name of YOSHIDA Yoshio. BOMURA was interviewed repeatedly. During the interrogation, BOMURA provided brief information on Japanese aircraft and also expressed his view after reading the document that described "Carnival of Bloodshed", which happened on 2 October 1943.
