| Content: | This item is a set of draft notes for a war diary for the months of January to February 1944, recording the activities of an unnamed transport unit, probably belonging to the 222nd Infantry Regiment, while stationed in the Madang region. It contains orders and reports concerning the transport of food and medicine supplies between Madang, Amele, and Erima, by land and boat using the Gum River. There are numerous lists of food and medicine supplies, details of sick and injured soldiers, and notes regarding road maintenance and patrol operations. This item was captured at Madang in 1944 |
