Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) research report on Major General YAMADA Shigeru. The enquiry was received on 1 August 1943 and an answer despatched on 2 August 1943. The report corrects information provided by prisoner of war 2nd Lieutenant SUDO Saburo (Interrogation report no. 99) with the advice from prisoner of war KANAZAWA that YAMADA served as a colonel of the 51st Combat Engineer Regiment in China before being promoted to Major General in November 1941 and being attached to the Taiwan Army HQ.
