Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) consolidated report of interrogations of eight Japanese prisoners of war who were captured on Normanby Island on 23 September 1942. All of them were crew of Yayoi which was sunk on the way to Rabi. The report summarises the movements of the destroyer, from the time it left Sasebo in October 1940 till it was sunk on 11 September 1942. After the sinking, survivors landed on Normanby Island. The report provides information on various aspects of the Japanese military, such as naval capability, equipment on board, army movement, and training.
