Content: This item is a war diary for the month of March 1943 recording the activities of a guard unit from the 20th Division 79th Infantry Regt stationed near the 112th LOC Field Hospital at Guwa, in the Ramu River region. One of the primary duties of the unit was the care and transport of sick and injured soldiers between Guwa and Hansa Bay. As well as reports of transport duties carried out in the region, the diary records details such as daily weather conditions, receipt of supplies and ordnance, news of enemy attacks in the region, and any illnesses, casualties or deaths suffered by the unit. It was captured at Hansa Bay in July 1944
