| Content: | This item is a Japanese-language propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office during the Second World War. The leaflet concerns the landing of the Allied Forces in the Philippines and stresses that the capture of the Philippines has a significant impact on the sea transport between Japan and the Japanese-occupied territories in the South Seas. The message emphasises the superiority of the Allied Forces in the production of modern weapons and military equipment. The message also stresses the uselessness of continuing the war for the Japanese without adequate ammunition and air and naval support. It urges the Japanese troops to surrender so that they can contribute to the restoration of the country after the war. 100,000 of them were printed. 40,000 of these leaflets were dispatched to Hollandia on 13 December 1944, 30,000 to Nadzab on 15 December 1944, and 31,500 to Darwin on 21 December 1944. |
