Content: | This is a Japanese-language propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office during the Second World War. An English translation of the text is attached. The leaflet is a Japanese-style calendar which shows a number of annual events by month. The first page has a brief message criticising the political trend in Japan, which is going backwards to the principle of seclusion, and an image of the treasure boat of Urashima TarĂ´, a well known folktale. The short message at the very end of the leaflet stresses that defeat in this year is inevitable. This is a smaller reprint of item J151 which was printed for the previous new year. 150,000 of them were printed. |
