Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for Superior Private JA145628 of the 20th Division 78th Infantry Regiment 1st Battalion 2nd Company, who was captured in Gurumbu near Kankiryo and Kumbarum in the Ramu River Area on 10 September 1943. JA145628, a 24 year old Superior Private from Fukuoka, had jumped off a cliff in the face of Australian attack and lost consciousness when he was captured by Australian troops. He was a grenade discharger in his unit. During the interrogation, JA145628 provided information on unit organisation, movements, and facilities and installations in Palau. A sketch map of Palau is attached.
