Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at Giruwa on 23 January 1942 during the Japanese retreat from campaigns in the Owen Stanley Ranges. This items contains operational orders, information about the condition of Japanese troops, and information about enemy movements in Kokoda, Ioribaiwa and Giruwa, between 16 August and 15 October 1942. It also records details of particular battles and Japanese plans to place continuing pressure on retreating Australian forces near Isurava and eventually capture Port Moresby.
