Content: | This is a Japanese-language propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office during the Second World War. The leaflet includes a picture of the Japanese Parliament House. The text includes a message supposedly sent to Japanese POWs in Australia from two Japanese members of the Diet. The message asks POWs to look after their health and not to lose confidence in their abilities. The leaflet states that the message proves that avoiding useless death in order to serve Japan in the future is the right thing for the soldiers to do. It urges the recipient to avoid dying in vain and to consider contributing to the future of Japan. 100,000 of them were printed. These leaflets were dispatched to Nadzab between 13 and 17 August 1944. |
