Content: | This item is a Japanese-language propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office during the Second World War. An English translation of the text is attached. Main events covered by this issue which is dated on 1st November 1943 include the new wartime administrative measures and the concerns voiced about the measures, the warning given by an Army spokesperson about the gravity of the war, the sinking of Fuji Maru and the damage to Kamo Maru caused by the Allied Forces, the repeated bombing of Rabaul by the Allies, air attacks on Japanese positions in Ternate and Pomelaa, the situation on the Huon Peninsula and the Allied offensive in Mono, Choiseul and Bougainville. It also reports on the Three Power Conference between the US, the UK and Russia, the battle between the Nazis and the Allies in Italy and the difficulties faced by the Germans in the Crimea, the Dnieper Bend and surroundings. 140,000 of them were printed. |
