| Content: | This item is a Japanese-language propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office during the Second World War. An English translation of the text is attached. The message states that Japanese soldiers, without supplies and medicines, cannot fight off various diseases haunting them in the jungle. It states that POWs under the Allied Forces will receive food and medical treatment and they can have new hope for the future once their health is restored. 100,000 of them were printed. 81,800 of these leaflets were dispatched to Nadzab on 14 July 1944 and 18,000 of them were dispatched to Hollandia on 23 October 1944. |
