Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for JA148067, a civilian employee with the 49th Anchorage Unit, who was captured while weak from malaria by US troops at Vanimo, near Hollandia, on 20 May 1944. During the interrogation, JA148067 provided information on the organisation (including chart) and training of the 1st Independent Garrison Battalion, supply dumps on Palau, Allied prisoners of war transferred from Kagawa Prefecture to Dairen, Manchuria, a proposed prisoner of war camp in Kure, Hiroshima, numbers and location of Japanese aircraft around Wewak and the results of an Allied air raid on Wewak on 17 April 1944.
