Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for 2nd Class Sergeant JA145585 of the 78th Infantry Regiment 3rd Battalion 9th Company Headquarters Section, who was captured in Wampua (3 km southwest of Kaiapit) on 15 November 1943. JA145585, a 31 year old 2nd Class Sergeant from Osaka, was captured by local police while he was sleeping in a hut. He was acting as runner between the Company Headquarters and Platoons, but the Headquarters had evacuated when he returned. During the interrogation, JA145585 provided information on unit organisation and road conditions between Hansa and Kaiapit.
