Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for JA147468, a civilian employee attached to the 49th Anchorage Unit, who was captured on 24 April 1944. JA147468, suffering from malaria, was captured at Korako by US troops. During the interrogation, JA147468 provided information on Japanese sea transportation methods, petrol supply, shipping of rubber supplies, Allied prisoners of war in Singapore between March and May 1942, his attitude towards capture and the war, shipping operations at Hachinohe, oil storage tanks in Singapore, harbour facilities at Prai Harbour (Thailand) and an Allied submarine attack during August 1942 near the Penang River. The appendix contains organisational charts for the 49th Anchorage Unit, the 122nd Infantry Regiment, the 46th Anchorage Unit and Shipping Headquarters.
