| Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Service (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at Cape Gloucester on 26 December 1943 during the Allied campaigns to capture New Britain. This item contains extracts from a file of orders, regulations, notes and publications concerning the reorganisation and operation of medical officers, dated 23 May 1940 to August 1942. It outlines the Operation Field Service Regulations, part 3, relating to medical work. These regulations were based on "operations carried out against the Soviet Army on the Manchurian-Soviet border", and in the light of "progress of wound treatment in the European war and from actual experience in the Manchurian and China incidents." |
