Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for JA147460, who was captured in Hollandia on 24 April 1944. JA147460, a 24 year old civilian employee with the Yajima Labour Group – Civil Construction Unit from Saitama Prefecture, was captured by US troops while bewildered by a shell blast. During the interrogation, JA147460 provided information on Japanese manufacturing companies in Tokyo, details about the Yajima Labour Group, pay for civilian employees, training, land fortifications at Koror and Kairiru Island in July 1943, casualties from an air raid on Hollandia on 21 April 1944, casualties from the sinking of Saipan Maru on 21 July 1943, and sightings of Allied prisoners of war on Kairiru Island. The appendix includes sketches of facilities in the Wewak area, Japanese air raid shelters, the main bay of Kairiru Island and the Tokyo Motor Car Company and the Tokyo Gas Electric Company.
