Content: | This item is a Japanese-language leaflet advising the Japanese troops that Japan has surrendered on 15 August 1945. The message on the back reports that the Emperor formally issued a rescript to end the war. It also advises them to disarm and approach the nearest camp of the American forces or the Philippine regular armies. The message assures that officers and men of the Allied forces are instructed by General MacArthur to treat Japanese POWs with respect. |
