Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for Flight Sergeant TANABE Mitsumasa of the 4th Air Corps 3rd Squad 4th Air Flight, who was captured in Sipoma in New Guinea on 23 June 1943. TANABE, a 20 year old Flight Sergeant from Shimane, crash-landed in the sea with engine trouble and was captured by local soldiers after he reached shore. During the interrogation, TANABE provided information on unit organisation, operations he had been involved in, capabilities of Betty (Mitsubishi G4M) and other types of planes, and morale in Japan.
