Content: This item consists of records of operations of the 19th Army and the 2nd Area Army in the North of Australia Area during the Pacific War. These records were compiled October 1946 by the Demobilisation Ministry at the request of the Japanese government and the occupation forces. Although they were written soon after the events they describe, they were often reliant on recollections and interviews with veterans rather than primary military documentation. This item was hidden to prevent confiscation and later donated to NIDS in June 1965.
